1. From ABERDEEN (city centre)

Follow the A944 out of Aberdeen heading west towards ALFORD.

After approximately 20 miles – and three miles before reaching Alford – turn right at WHITEHOUSE onto the B992 (signposted KEIG and INSCH; also “Archaeolink”).

After three miles and before reaching the village of Keig, the road crosses the river Don (Keig Bridge): the main entrance to Castle Forbes is 200 yards past the bridge on the right (sign on gate PRIVATE – CASTLE FORBES).

2. From ABERDEEN AIRPORT (DYCE)

Take the A96 (dual carriageway) Aberdeen-Inverness road in the direction of Inverness. At the 3^rd roundabout after joining this road, leave the dual carriageway turning right towards KINTORE. Turn first left onto the B994/B993 through KEMNAY. Continue on this road for about 10 miles until it reaches the A944 Aberdeen-Alford road at TILLYFOURIE. Turn right towards ALFORD and after approximately three miles turn right at WHITEHOUSE as in 1. above.

3. From DEESIDE (ABOYNE, BRAEMAR etc.)

Take the A93 Braemar-Aberdeen road towards ABERDEEN. Four miles after the village of ABOYNE and just after leaving KINCARDINE O’NEIL turn left to TORPHINS. Go through TORPHINS on the B993 and continue on this road until it reaches the A944 Aberdeen-Alford road. Turn left towards ALFORD and after approximately 5 miles turn right at WHITEHOUSE as in 1. above.
